Berlin based guitarist Hub Hildenbrand is surely an exceptional artist. The Berklee scholar and awardee proved his distinct musicality with his acclaimed debut release 'Heimat'. His compositions span a broad spectrum – a musical journey encompassing different genres, styles and sound colors. Hub Hildenbrand is a truly versed 'global player' with a broad horizon, fascinating adaption abilities and some deeply felt passion. His masterly colorful playing is intriguing, be it on the classical fretless nylonstring, the fretless oktav steelstring or the Gibson Archtop guitar.
He has a strong interest in Indian and Turkish music the latter of which led him to attend the 'Konservatorium für türkische Musik' in Berlin. He has become one of the few guitarists who are able to convey what he calls Turkish Micronationality by the means of the guitar. By approaching different cultures and by musically assimilating them into Jazz Hub Hildenbrand creates its own discrete language.
